Menu Planning & Supportive Nutrition Environments in Child Care Settings – Practical Guide
This guide was created to help child care providers meet the food and drink requirements in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA). It includes practical information on menu planning, food and beverage choices, portion sizes, and reading food labels. Strategies to create a supportive nutrition environment within the child care setting are also provided.
A Menu and Nutrition Environment Self-Assessment Tool for Child Care Settings was also created to complement this practical guide and is part of a suite of child care resources offered by ODPH (previously know as the Ontario Society for Nutrition Professionals in Public Health/OSNPPH).
