Health Equity Workgroup

• This workgroup is made up of community and public health professionals and researchers who are interested in working on advancing health equity in Ontario
• The HEWG advocates for and supports the development of a public health system that includes health equity as both approach and outcome
• Our Workgroup meets at least quarterly, and the Subgroups meet more frequently to operationalize workplans

• Currently, we have four areas of focus:
  • Anti-Racism
  • Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion
  • Mental Health and Substance Use
  • and the Social Determinants of Health
