An Environmental Scan of Healthy Food Choices & Tap Water In Municipal Recreational Facilities & Affiliated Public Spaces

This environmental scan provides a snapshot of the availability of healthy food choices in municipal recreational facilities and public spaces in Grey Bruce county. This report outlines a Grey Bruce Action Plan with the goal that all recreational facilities serve healthy food and beverages. Areas identified for moving forward include: using a Food Charter lens when reviewing current service contracts; completing a patron survey; creating a healthy food concession and vending machine policy; developing a business plan; continuing communication between facility operators and municipalities and improving, promoting and maintaining tap water access.
