This evidence summary describes the type food and beverage products available at check-out in 8,617 retail food stores (including supermarkets, grocery stores, and convenience and other retail food stores like drug stores, and dollar stores) located in 468 communities across the United States between 2010 and 2012. These findings suggest there is opportunity to increase the availability of healthy food and beverages at check-out and promote healthier choices for consumers.
