Curbing Childhood Obesity: An Overview of the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Framework for Action to Promote Healthy Weights

A detailed explanation of the Canada-wide childhood obesity strategy targeted at children less than 18 years of age. It is a collaborative framework implemented by the Federal, Provincial and Territorial health ministries and works as an extension to the Pan-Canadian Healthy Living Strategy and the Declaration on Prevention and Promotion. Evidence based information about the obesity crisis, including increased prevalence, health and economic implications and long term health outcomes as well as detailed explanation of the three integrated strategies are presented.
