Do we Need GM Crops to Feed the World
Over the course of 2015, Canadian Biotechnology Action Workgroup, set out to assess the evidence around genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and investigate the real impacts and risks of GMOs in Canada to the environment, food, farm systems, and the economy. This is the sixth report in the GMO Inquiry 2015, which challenges the assertion made by the biotechnology industry that genetically modified (GM) crops are needed to “feed the world” by analyzing the claim; defining the real problem; presenting arguments which contradict the claim; and describing food sovereignty as the solution to the real problem.
