Food and Nutrition in Long-Term Care Homes
This chapter from the 2019 Annual Report of the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario deals with food and nutrition in long-term care homes. The report found that the Ministry of Long-Term care and the long-term care homes do not have sufficient procedures in place to confirm that residents are receiving sufficient mealtime assistance and that they receive food and nutrition services in accordance with their individual plan of care. Specific sub-sections deal with the dining room experience, nutritional care needs, food quality and safety, food purchasing, and performance measurement.
