Food and Nutrition in Nova Scotia Schools – An Environmental Scan of Key School Informants
A report that describes the current Nova Scotia schools’ food and nutrition environmental scan prepared for the Healthy Foods in Nova Scotia Schools Steering Committee. The scan is based on 26 key informant interviews with two groups of key stakeholders: the school board (English-speaking) program directors and the selected school principals from across Nova Scotia. Thematic analysis was performed for the qualitative data collected and suggested solutions were discussed in detail. The information reported will help to direct strategies and actions towards the development of a provincial food and nutrition policy for schools.
