Paint Your Plate with Vegetables and Fruit – A Toolkit for Ontario Child Care Providers
The Paint Your Plate toolkit was developed by Ontario Dietitians in Public Health (ODPH) for child care settings in Ontario to support the implementation of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (section 42 of Ontario Regulation 137/15). The goal of this toolkit is to make it easier for young children to enjoy vegetables and fruit every day and complements the Menu Planning & Supportive Nutrition Environments in Child Care Settings Practical Guide.
The toolkit includes sample policies, seasonal menus, and fun activities, as well as factsheets, posters, and tips for sharing the Paint Your Plate message with families. The Paint Your Plate toolkit is adapted from the CATCH Healthy Eating Manual with permission from Niagara Region Public Health, and from the ODPH BrightBites Paint Your Plate program. The toolkit can be found it its entirety on the ODPH website.
