Steps to Creating a School Nutrition Policy – A Step by Step Toolkit
An education resource for elementary teachers to implement School Food and Beverage Policy (PPM 150) into everyday teaching. This Alberta-based resource is targeted for elementary teachers and discusses “how-to” resources and ideas with respect to the policy. The document defines the 80/20 rule for categorization of food and beverages and the requirements of the policy. Effective examples and practical applications to integrate healthy living with the current education curriculum specific to each grade level are provided.
